Friday Writing Report 3/6

I felt confident about the background research and how it tied together. If I were to revise it I would go more in to depth about the interconnections. I learned that I definitely do not want to be a psychology major and that I am really interested in Bio-Physics.

One of the rhetorical devices I will use and improve on will be my first person active voice. Another strategy that I will develop is creating arguments of value in order to organize each representative finding and have a strong logos. The third strategy I will include is hedging because it will allow a stronger argument for my evidence in areas that are not quite well established in the field of psychology.

Methods

Methods This study proposes the exploration of the binaural beat alpha wave frequency effects on the mammalian brain in order to attribute that the natural brain synchronicity is the key component for preventative measures of beta-amyloid plaque build up and neurofibrillary entanglements that lead to apoptosis. Experiment We will compare the effects of 30 minute binaural beat frequency stimulation while meditating and measure the results on an EEG. The neuroimaging modality that is capable of identifying brain wave abnormalities by registering electric signals produced by neurons is the electroencephalography (EEG) (K.J. Blinowska et al. / Clinical Neurophysiology 128 (2017) 667–680). The purpose of the meditation is to demonstrate the development of neuroplasticity connectivity under a peaceful state of mind. The participants consist of individuals all who have early signs of dementia. The control group will consist of 30 individuals who will follow a healthy sleeping schedule and wou

The three rhetorical devices I will utilize to review my grant proposal while I revise it are: Logos, inductive reasoning, deductive reasoning. In logos, I will use my best reasoning by demonstrating the systematic understanding of my reasoning and understanding of the topic. For example, I will describe how the difference of two tonal frequencies will result in a binaural beat. In deductive reasoning, I can draw generalizations for research that is already known. For example, I can already state that beta amyloid plaques are the early signs for Alzheimer’s disease. In inductive reasoning, I can use specific observations to reach a conclusion. For example, I can infer that sleep correlates with Alzheimer’s disease because if the frequency range obtained during REM sleep is never reached, thus it will skip crucial storage maintenance processes.

INTRO / BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION As neurodegenerative disease continues to rise, alternative methods of healing must be investigated in order to curb the increase of deteriorating states of consciousness in individuals. The congestion of beta amyloid plaque near neuron to neuron pathways are known as signature features that lead to the development of Alzheimer’s Disease(1). If cholinergic neurons are blocked by the formation plaque or neurofibrillary tangles, the dysregulation of acetylcholine pathway from the basal forebrain will not reach astrocytes that contribute to neuronal firing essential to a health cognition, leading to apoptosis and cortical desynchronization(2). Alpha wave frequencies, between 7-11(Hz), are known to induce a focused state of mind that can improve learning. The effect of hearing two tonal frequencies, with the difference of those two frequencies falling between 7-11(Hz) will produce a binaural beat stimulation in the alpha band range, influencing the brain to believe that the in

Exploring how the procedural approaches to optogenetic stimulation, such as effective process times, and how the overall time of manipulation, such as acute or chronic, will influence the complex circuitry of mammalian neuroplasticity (either model organism with rats, or genetic treatment in humans). Such learning can be achieved by a combination of neural imaging while activation of optogenetically modified cells. These cells modified would possibly be the supportive cells responsible for either blocking or activating signals that the longer connective cells would be sending/receiving. The natural daily acute and chronic stimulation of optogenetics allows a better understanding of the circuitry influences from physiological internal or external responses.

Both the grant proposal and the research article contain descriptive titles. They are obvious titles that represent the overview of the topic. The research article contains two different tables in order to help highlight the statistical aspects of the study. The grant proposal does not contain and images, perhaps because they text and the analysis of funding is far more important. The research article uses more qualifiers and modifiers than the grant proposal. The most qualifiers and modifiers are used in the introductory section of the research article. After comparing the research article and the grant proposal, it is evident that the research article dedicates more time towards reviewing the limitations. However, the grant proposal sounds more confident because they do a great job at implementing background information on their research, rather than filling in the information as they continue, like the research article did. The vocabulary can be described as highly accessible for
